Ear Symptoms

  • Given a patient presenting with ear symptoms, perform a patient-centered interview and focused physical exam, list and interpret clinical findings
  • Be able to list a differential diagnosis of ear pain
  • Describe the diagnostic considerations for otitis media and otitis externa and the relevant physical exam findings
  • Describe the approach to management, including pharmacologic options, for otitis media and externa in children and adults
  • Describe the diagnostic considerations and an appropriate management plan for tinnitus
  • Be able to give a differential diagnosis for conductive and sensorineural hearing loss
  • Describe basic management strategies for conductive and sensorineural hearing loss
