About

Background

Welcome to The Hub – Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the online study guide for the third year medicine clerkship course in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto (U of T).

This online interactive tool was created in response to the student need for up to date, relevant and distilled resources to use for clinical reference and study during their Obstetrics and Gynaecology rotation.  This resource contains most essential topics that a clinical clerk is expected to encounter during their six-week rotation.  For each topic there may be cases, videos, images, articles, guidelines and useful patient resources to use for learning purposes.

This resource should not be the sole source of study for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clerkship Exam at U of T.  This is not an all-encompassing syllabus, but a study-guide for essential topics during the clerkship rotation.  Please use other sources to fully prepare for the examination.  For particulars about the course OBS310Y, or copies of seminar notes, please refer to Blackboard.

Content

All content that is referenced in the website other than videos, images and visual aids will come from peer-reviewed journals.  Each of these articles/guidelines will be posted after copyright is obtained.

Each topic on the website will be reviewed annually by at least one faculty member from the University of Toronto Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.  External proposals for additions or changes of content will be categorized into: 1) Additions or changes to existing topics or 2) New topics.  Suggestions for additions or changes to existing topics can be submitted via the website under the Contact tab.  This will go to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Undergraduate Medical Education Committee for review.  The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Undergraduate Committee with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clerkship Director as Chair, is ultimately responsible for the content of the website.

Each link on the website will be checked to make sure they are working by the Clerkship and Communications Assistant on a semi-annual basis or more often if necessary.
